Course Description: Navesink Country Club is a four-season, family-oriented private golf course and country club located on the banks of the Navesink River in Monmouth County on the New Jersey Atlantic shore. Navesink Country Club provides many amenities to the membership including an elegant clubhouse, 18-hole golf course, pool, seven tennis courts, four paddleball courts and thee pickleball courts, along with an outdoor hockey rink during the winter months.
The club is currently undergoing a major renovation project with the pool and 18th green renovations completed earlier this season and the terrace behind the clubhouse and Lyon’s Den being under construction currently. Future portions of the project include more rooms inside the clubhouse being renovated and upgrades to the practice range and chipping area. The golf course was established in 1963, originally designed by Hal Purdy using the sloping terrain beautifully to provide a fun and challenging experience to members and guests. The course has undergone two Long-Range Improvement Plans designed by Ron Forse who learned and developed his fundamentals of golf course architecture from Hal Purdy. During the current plan, bunkers were renovated in 2015/2016 with the Better Billy Bunker liner installed. As the latest plan nears completion, Forse Designs, including Ron Forse and Jim Nagle, is in the process of developing another LRIP to assist the club over the next 10 years. Along with the LRIP, future projects on the course include regrading up to five more greens to provide more pin locations and the upgrades to the driving range and chipping area.
