Baltusrol Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Springfield, NJ. The club was founded in 1895 and has gone under numerous renovations to establish 2, Top-100 golf courses in the Lower and Upper Course. Baltusrol is well-known for providing and exceeding membership expectations for tournament conditions daily. Baltusrol has hosted 16 USGA National Championships, the 2005 and 2016 PGA Championship and most recently the 2018 USGA Junior Amateur. Baltusrol is slated to host the 2023 Women’s PGA Championship and the 2029 PGA Championship. Baltusrol Golf Club is set to restore the Lower Golf Course starting November 1, 2019, under Gil Hanse.
Baltusrol Golf Club grounds department is seeking hardworking, self-motivated individuals that are eager to advance their career in the golf course industry. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director of Grounds, Superintendents, and Senior Assistant to facilitate and execute all operations necessary to maintain 2, Top-100 golf courses. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in but not limited to; course setup, intensive water management of playing surfaces, monitoring and applying chemical applications, small-scale projects and all other agronomic practices necessary to maintain championship conditions. Baltusrol Golf Club will begin restoring the Lower golf course with USGA greens, new irrigation system, drainage, bunkers, tee complexes, and pump station. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of an immense master plan restoration.
2-year certificate or a 4-year degree in Turfgrass or Agronomy. Entry-level position, 1-2 years of experience as an intern. Must be highly motivated and a team player.
